2022: NAHCON announces that there are no more slots
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, says it wants to inform State Pilgrims' Welfare Boards/Agencies/Commissions, Licensed Tour Operators and the public that Nigeria's allotted Hajj quota has long been completely exhausted.
In a statement signed by Fatima Sanda Usara, AD, Public Affairs, the commission said it hopes all Hajj managers will make their allocations on a first-come, first-served basis as agreed from the start of operations.
However, the Commission assured that if Saudi Arabia accedes to their request for additional slots, they will willingly distribute them to all stakeholders demanding additional allocations with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, NAHCON has urged all state' pilgrims' boards and private operators to focus more on preparing their pilgrims for their timely transportation to Saudi Arabia.
The need to get all registered pilgrims safely into the Kingdom before Saudi airspace closes is a top priority for NAHCON at the moment.
Likewise, the Commission assured licensed tour operators that initial disadvantages due to unforeseen developments in the new operating system had been successfully addressed, adding that they were expected to start printing travel documents for their pilgrims without delay.
Likewise, registered pilgrims are advised to follow the instructions of their superiors accordingly to smoothly complete the 2022 Hajj descent.
