2023 POLITICS: " Kwankwaso professes that Bola Tinubu is a strategist

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, says if he feels he has no chance in the 2023 general election, he could recommend Bola Tinubu.

Kwankwaso said so in an interview with ARISE TV on Sunday.

The former Kano governor also said he does not feel threatened by Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, who are the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential and vice presidential candidates.

However, he added that he had concerns about whether the APC would run based on the party's current performance under President Muhammadu Buhari.

"I hope he will take it easy so we can continue the fight for a solid and prosperous Nigeria. I'm so happy with this combination. My only concern is the platform," he said.

"I know he's a strategist, Bola Tinubu, he's a good man. I've had reasons to sit down with him countless times from 1992 to the present.

"I wish I could see him to ask him what he is going to say to Nigerians that he will act differently than Muhammadu Buhari does today.

"That is my serious concern for him. I can usually recommend him if I don't get it, but it will be like building something from scratch.

"If I see him I wish him well, or if you see him before me tell him I wish him well, but let's take it easy."

On the APC's Muslim-Muslim ticket, Kwankwaso said he would not support it given the current realities in Nigeria.

"We all know that's not the best arrangement, and it's only a matter of time before they realize the mistake of doing it," he said.
