34-year-old man commits suicide over alleged money theft
Iliya Adamu, a guy from Adamawa State, is said to have hanged himself after struggling with an ongoing accusation of stealing N40,000.
Adamu, 34, killed himself because his own brother repeatedly accused him of stealing N40,000.
The brother, whose identity could not be confirmed as of press time, originally raised the alarm about missing his money and attributing it to Adamu roughly eight months ago, according to information obtained by DAILY POST on Tuesday.
Adamu, a bricklayer who was employed in Girei, in the Girei Local Government Area, and hails from Kwanan Waya in Yola South, was charged with stealing the money in April of this year.
After refuting the accusation of theft against him from his brother for approximately seven months, it was learned on Tuesday that he had made up his mind to end it all at the weekend.
According to a source, Adamu's body was discovered hanging from a tree branch in the Girei jungle, and an insecticide container was also discovered nearby.
Police officers are looking into the incident, according to SP Suleiman Nguroje, the state police public relations officer, who confirmed it.
