36-year-old Brazilian model who married herself files for divorce

Sullen Carey, an influencer from London, got divorced after barely a year of marriage. The 36-year-old Brazilian model gained notoriety the previous year when she tied the knot in a ritual known as "sologamy." 

She shared the unusual occasion with her 400,000 Instagram followers, garnering a great deal of international media coverage. Carey reportedly tried to make her solo marriage work, even going to couples therapy sessions by herself, before deciding to call it quits.

Suellen had ten sessions of therapy in order to manage her emotions and prevent her from becoming married to herself. She ultimately concluded that divorcing was the best course of action. "I was putting a lot of pressure on myself, which left me exhausted,” she confessed, acknowledging the emotional toll it had taken.

 Suellen acknowledged that her self-marriage was a "enriching" experience and a voyage of self-discovery, but she expressed no remorse about calling it quits. "I realised my sologamous marriage was a healing process, but personal growth can lead us in different directions,” she explained.

Suellen expressed her openness to a traditional relationship and stated she was ready for a new chapter in her life. "I've made the decision that it's time to move on and let new opportunities into my life, including dating."
