8-year-old boy arrested in Alabama for stealing car
According to police, an 8-year-old boy was apprehended in Alabama after reportedly snatching a car at gunpoint and giving the police a chase.
According to Major Saba Coleman of the Montgomery Police Department, the little kid, who has not been identified publicly, allegedly carjacked an adult at gunpoint at 11 a.m. on West Fairview Avenue in Montgomery.
On East South Boulevard and Norman Bridge Road, the youngster refused to stop for the police, starting a chase that came to an end when the boy rear-ended another automobile at West Fairview Avenue and South Court Street while driving the stolen car.
The site reported that there were no injuries.
The gun was recovered at the scene.
The 8-year-old was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Montgomery County Youth Detention Facility on suspicion of first-degree robbery, evading arrest, and violating a gun possession prohibition.
“Whenever I realized it was a little boy, I knew I had to follow them and make sure no one got hit and that he got caught because don’t want him driving all over Montgomery, causing more accidents or hurting himself or hurting other people,†witness “Snake†Knapp told WSFA of the dramatic sighting.
On Norman Bridge Road, the boy also picked up two adults, according to Knapp.
“I think parents just really need to know where their kids are, what their kids are doing, and just talk to them about these kinds of things,†he lamented.
