A £4m investment vehicle launched by Mustard
Mustard is an Africa-focused venture agency that recently launched its idea-stage programme which is a £4m investment vehicle to build narrative-led technology ventures from the ground up.
According to the London-based company, the development aims to create Africa-focused companies able to move with a global audience, as it will be designed to play both the role from the earliest possible stage of the investor as well as the builder.
In addition to identifying visionary, experienced and influential individuals with globalizable venture ideas, the company said it will provide funds for engineering, design and storytelling as well as the expertise to explore a company before it is formed.
The firm also said it aims to offer its investors VC-like returns within 5 years compared to the 10-year return approach of African VC firms with its team of expertise including Ndubuisi Kejeh, Founder of Mustard, Parminder Vir OBE, an award-winning film and television producer and former CEO of the Tony Elumelu Foundation; Chris Williamson, Managing Director of Mpesa at Vodacom; Eunice Chou, of African VC firm EchoVC, is a partner and Dudu Sarr, longtime friend and manager of Grammy Award-winner Youssou N'dour.
