Abuja Police rescue woman from suspected robber, ritualist
A young woman was saved by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command from a suspected ritualist and armed robber.
A manhunt for the suspect has also been started by the command. This was announced in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday by SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer.
Promise Eze, 25, of Ebonyi State, was discovered bound to a little chair with plaster covering her mouth at a hotel in the Wuse neighbourhood of Abuja, the statement said.
Officers responded to a distress call from hotel personnel on January 31, 2025, and found her unconscious and in distress. The sufferer regained consciousness after being sent to Wuse District Hospital.
According to preliminary findings, the victim and a guy claiming to be Emmanuel Okoro from Lagos State checked into the hotel on January 30.
She subsequently revealed, however, that they had met online, where the suspect posed as Michael Prince and claimed to be a Delta State employee of an oil business.
