Accident on Lagos-Ibadan expressway leaves 10 people dead
In the early hours of Wednesday, a Mack truck and a Toyota Hiace bus collided at the Oniworo sector of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, leaving 10 people reported dead.
This was confirmed by Ahmed Umar, the FRSC's Ogun State Sector Commander, in a statement made accessible to journalists in Abeokuta.
According to information, the collision occurred at 4.30 am.
According to reports, the bus driver lost control and drove too fast, which contributed to the disaster, as did the trailer's obstruction of the road.
According to Umar, the Toyota bus with the registration number KLD 539 XA lost control and collided with the rear of the truck.
“ A total of 19 people were involved in the crash which comprised 13 male adults and six female adults.
“ Two male adults sustained injuries while seven male adults, two female adults and one female child died in the accident,†he said.
According to Umar, the deceased were left at the Ipara morgue while the injured were brought to Victory Hospital in Ogere for medical assistance.
When driving in bad weather, the sector commander advised drivers to constantly turn on their headlamps.
