Adele reveals the correct pronunciation of her name

Hello, it’s “uh-dale.”

Adele uncovered that a great many people have been articulating her name mistakenly — and fans are in a complete fit over her explanation.

The vocalist lauded a London-based fan for articulating her name appropriately while posing an inquiry about her songwriting during a question and answer to commend the arrival of her "I Drink Wine" music video last week.

“Love that,” Adele, 34, told the fan, adding, “She said my name perfectly!”

The Grammy victor then articulated her name for the crowd herself, making sense of that she even needed to make the explanation for the arbitrator.

Obviously, the right method for saying Adele's name is "uh-dale" rather than the more well known way to express "uh-del."

Fans were left gobsmacked at the adjustment and took to Twitter to share their contemplations.

“I have never ever known anyone with the name ‘Adele’ being called ‘Uh-dale’ it’s always been ‘A-del,'” one person tweeted.

“Adele it’s an italian name, forget british pronunciation,” a second Twitter user wrote.

“I’m Literally Flabbergasted,” another tweeted.

“I’m related to someone called Adele and we pronounce her name Ah-del. Don’t be a Karen, Adele,” one troll added, with someone else jabbing, “It’s pronounced ‘drama queen’.”

“Her mom spelled her name wrong then,” one more joked.

Adele is exceptionally specific about her name, particularly taking into account that she dropped the utilization of her last name since she didn't like how it sounded.

“I could have never used my surname,” she told YouTuber NikkieTutorials in December 2021 when discussing why she only goes by her first name. “Adele Adkins does not have the same ring as Adele.”

She's been preparing for her Las Vegas residency.

The "Easy on Me" vocalist added that she felt her last name was "dull" yet conceded that "Adele actually feels like my name" even subsequent to becoming renowned.

“My mum still calls me it. My friends call me it,” she added.
