Adeyanju faults El-Rifai's suggestion over Tinubu's choice of running mate
Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai has been accused of deciding with other members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that the party's presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, should choose a Muslim as his running mate. Deji Adeyanju, an Abuja-based socio-political commentator, claimed that El-Rufai and other members of the APC agreed that Tinubu's running mate should be a Muslim. Adeyanju claimed that the agreement was reached ahead of the APC's presidential election. In a Facebook post, the human rights activist said that those behind such a move would soon start propaganda that religion doesn't matter. He claimed that they intend to use social media to massively mobilize Nigerians and that religion cannot play a role in the selection of Tinubu's comrade-in-arms. “El-Rufai and others have already decided that Tinubu's vice president will be a Muslim. They agreed on that before the APC primaries. They want to start selling the propaganda that religion doesn't matter in a multi-religious nation. You will soon see some influencers coming to talk trash," Adeyanju wrote.
