African Men's Player of the Year award: Keita and Salah nominated
Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita have been nominated for the 2022 African Men's Player of the Year award.
The Reds duo have been included in the 30-man shortlist announced by the Confederation of African Football on Thursday.
Salah made 51 appearances for Liverpool last season, scoring 31 goals and providing 16 assists. He led Egypt to the Africa Cup of Nations final in February.
He was named Men's Player of the Year by the Professional Footballers' Association and Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers' Association and won the Premier League's Golden Boot and Playmaker of the Season awards.
Keita, on the other hand, made 40 appearances as Liverpool won the Emirates FA Cup and Carabao Cup trophies, attained the Champions League final and finished runners-up in the Premier League.
Former Red Sadio Mane, who joined Bayern Munich last week, is also on the shortlist.
