Air Force plane crashes in Benue

According to reports, a Nigerian Air Force FT-7NI trainer jet has crashed in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State.

The incident took place on Friday as it was engaged in a routine training exercise, according to a report on Channels Television.

Additionally, channels claimed that Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the NAF's director of public relations and information, had corroborated the remark.

Two of the aircraft's pilots, he claimed, made it out alive and were being watched in a military facility.

“Both pilots are currently under observation at NAF Base Hospital, Makurdi. Meanwhile, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has constituted a Board of Inquiry to determine the immediate and remote causes of the crash,” he said.
