Airpods Pro 2 may not come with body temperature or heart rate features
The new AirPods Pro have been widely rumoured to be launching sometime later this year, three years after the first version debuted. There was initial speculation that the new AirPods Pro would include health tracking capabilities for the first time. However, a new report from Bloomberg implies otherwise.
In the latest issue of his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that new AirPods Pro are on the way "later this year". Recent reports from sources like 52Audio have revealed that AirPods Pro 2 will add support for lossless audio playback along with a redesigned charging case.
Today, Gurman says something he doesn't expect is heart rate monitoring support or the ability to determine your body temperature. These two features have been "explored" within Apple, but are unlikely to be introduced this year:
The AirPods Pro 2 are slated to launch later this year. They are highly anticipated as it has been three years since the launch of the original AirPods Pro. AirPods Pro also had some reliability and longevity issues. Apple is currently running an AirPods Pro service program where you can replace your AirPods for free.
