Aiyedatiwa nominates Kayode Ajulo, Sowore, four others as commissioners

Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the governor of Ondo State, has nominated Kayode Ajulo, SAN, and five other people as commissioners.

As a result, the House of Assembly has received the nominees' names for verification and screening.

Ebenezer Adeniyan, the governor's chief press secretary, revealed this in a statement that was made accessible the media on Friday.

Olaide Adelami, a former deputy clerk of the National Assembly, was chosen by the governor to serve as the state's deputy governor earlier.

This occurred just hours after all of the commissioners and special advisers were fired by the governor on Wednesday.

The statement on nominees read, “The nominees are Mrs. Omowumi Isaac; Mr. Olukayode A. Ajulo, SAN; Razaq Obe, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan; Akinwumi Sowore and Mr. Oseni Oyeniyi.”

The statement went on to say that the governor has also named the following people Special Advisers: Mr. Alabi Johnson, Special Adviser on Energy; Mrs. Olamide Falana, Special Adviser on Gender Affairs; and Olugbenga Omole, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.

Rotimi Akeredolu, the late governor, passed away in December 2023 in Germany at the age of 67 from prostrate cancer. Aiyedatiwa took over as governor.
