Akeredolu disagrees with the FG declaration that ISWAP is responsible for Owo terrorist attack
Ondo Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has criticized the federal government's statement that the ISWAP terrorist group was responsible for the terrorist attack on St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo. Akeredolu professed he took the conclusion with a pinch of salt. He stated that ISWAP always takes responsibility for any attack it carries out. On Friday, during an interaction with a Swiss-based Christian human rights organization Christian Solidarity International (CSI), the governor of Ondo said the southwest region had been a haven of peace before the attack.
According to him: “The statement is too hasty. I take their conclusion with a pinch of salt. ISWAP does not hide their attacks. If they had, they would have admitted it. We have yet to know their identity and our security guards are still on their trail. “We are helping the victims of the attack. Including those who have lost loved ones and those who are in the hospitals. We also have people who have offered to help the state government. Some people have donated to the Catholics.†Speaking to the state police, the governor said: "A single police command cannot guarantee security in this country. We need state police now. Amotekun suffers from many limitations when it comes to getting all the gear needed to fight these criminals.â€
