Aliko Dangote promises employment to Kano University graduates
All first- and second-class upper-division Kano State University of Science and Technology, Wudil graduates will receive automatic employment, according to Aliko Dangote, president of the Dangote Group. The university has been renamed in his honour.
Prof. Shehu Musa, the university's vice-chancellor, revealed this information to newsmen on Friday in Kano as he briefed them on the university's rebranding to honour its chancellor, Aliko Dangote.
Dangote, according to Musa, had guaranteed all first- and second-class upper-division graduates of the university automatic employment.
The vice chancellor further stated that Dangote had previously asked the administration of the institution to send a list of all first-class university graduates for guaranteed employment.
He claims that Dangote, the university's chancellor, built two dorms with 500 rooms each for male and female students.
Musa added that Dangote had promised to hire 15 international teachers and construct housing for them as part of his commitment to the university.
He stated that the 15 professors had undergone interviews and were awaiting the university's chancellor's final clearance.
A suitable and positive step, according to Musa, was the institution's renaming after business tycoon and richest man in Africa, Aliko Dangote.
The vice chancellor asked affluent people to follow in the footsteps of Dangote and make investments in the education sector for the benefit of the nation.
He extended gratitude to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, the state executive council, and the state Assembly members for the University's tremendous growth and support.
