Amber Heard gets a marriage proposal after losing the defamation case against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp
A man from Saudi Arabia approached Amber Heard on Instagram and asked her to marry him following the case with her ex-husband Johnny Depp. Amber lost a defamation case against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, on Wednesday. The trial took place in Fairfax, Virginia, and Johnny won the $50 million case. Now a man from Saudi Arabia has offered to marry Amber after she lost the case. The man even sent Amber a voice memo on Instagram, calling himself Johnny Depp, better known as "old man". In the voice memo, which has been circulating online, the man can be heard: "Amber, with all the doors closing on you, you have no one but me to take care of you. I noticed that some people hate and bully you, that's why I decided to marry you. May Allah bless us both. You're a blessing, but people don't appreciate it. I'm better than that old man."
Meanwhile, Amber Heard's sister Whitney Henriquez, 34, has spoken out after the actress lost the defamation lawsuit against her ex-husband Johnny Depp. Whitney, who testified in support of Amber, 36, during the trial, released a statement on Instagram three days after the jury's verdict. "I still stand by you sissy," Whitney wrote. "Yesterday, today and tomorrow I will always be proud of you for standing up for yourself, testifying both here in Virginia and the UK and being the voice of so many who cannot speak out on the things that are behind closed doors happen doors.†Amber's sister was by her side during the week-long trial in Fairfax County, Virginia. She was there when the seven-person jury ruled on June 1 that Amber's 2018 comment for the Washington Post was defamation of Johnny. Whitney was called to the witness stand during the May 18 trial and testified that she saw bruises on her sister during Amber's marriage to Johnny, 58.
After losing the case, Amber has to pay her ex-husband $10.4 million in damages. However, her attorney, Elaine Charlson Bredehoft, said Amber couldn't afford it and that she plans to appeal the jury's decision. Amber won $2 million in judgment over testimony by Johnny's attorney Adam Waldman that was deemed defamatory against her. After the verdict was read, Amber released a statement saying she was "heartbroken" by the decision and that she was "turning back the clock" for women who come forward about alleged abuse.
