Amotekun arrests 48 suspected kidnappers, others

48 suspected criminals have been arrested by members of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, often known as the Amotekun Corps, for a variety of offences in various sections of the state.

The two female suspects were taken into custody on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, attempted murder, burglary, bank fraud, cultism, theft, assault, and breaking the state's anti-open grazing law, among other offences.

Two cars, a generator set, some clothing supplies, electric transformer cables, and some counterfeit dollar notes are among the items that were taken from the suspects and put on display.

All of the suspects, some of whom were caught in the act, confessed to the crime, according to Adetunji Adeleye, the Commander of the Corps in the state, who was parading the suspects before reporters at the Amotekun Corps headquarters in Akure.

Over 600 suspects that the corps' members have captured in the state over the past six months are presently facing legal proceedings, and if proven guilty, they will be transported to jail facilities, according to Adeleye.

The head of Amotekun also disclosed that a significant decrease in kidnapping has occurred in the state's Ose Local Government Area due to the extensive presence of Amotekun agents in the region.

He issued a warning to anybody with criminal intent to either stop or leave the state because men from the corps will catch them.
