Amotekun arrests ex-convict for theft of mosque's amplifier in Osun

Tajudeen Ridwan, an ex-convict, has been taken into custody by Osun Amotekun agents for suspected amplifier theft from a mosque.

In the Osogbo neighbourhood of Isale Osun, Ridwan was taken into custody by Osun Amotekun Corps agents.

The Osun Amotekun spokesperson, Idowu Yusuf, disclosed in a statement made public on Saturday that Ridwan, 30, was freed from a detention facility in March after serving a four-year prison sentence for acts that bordered on theft.

He claimed that before Amotekun agents were called, the suspect was apparently caught in the act once more by some worshippers.

Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi (retd), the commander of Amotekun Corps, also commented on the arrest, revealing that the suspect had taken on the persona of a worshipper in order to take advantage of the situation and steal an amplifier from the mosque.

“He was caught after morning prayer thinking that all the worshippers had left the mosque, but luck ran against him when some worshippers saw him parking the electronic musical amplifier inside a bag.
