Anambra offers appointment to former tennis champion Tania Okpala

Tania Okpala, a tennis star who has undergone rehabilitation, has been extended an immediate appointment as a Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Works in the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare by the Anambra State Government. 

This was revealed to journalists on Friday at the Governor's Lodge in Awka by the state governor's spouse, Dr. Nonye Soludo. She also mentioned that Tania is supposed to use her life story to inspire the next generation and give her all to social interventions and assisting humanity. 

The state administration and other Nigerians, including a former tennis champion, were drawn to Tania's appalling plight after she was spotted wandering the streets of Awka in a viral video that went viral on social media in January.

Following the video's widespread distribution, the state government, acting through the state Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, transported Tania to a rehabilitation facility. 

Speaking as Soludo introduced Tania to her family in front of Joel Okpala, her father, the state government arranged for the best rehabilitation centre in the state, transferred Tania there, and ensured that she got the best treatment possible in a private ward.
