Anderlecht signs Nigerian midfielder, Ishaq Abdulrazaq
The Belgian club announced on Monday that Anderlecht has completed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Ishaq Abdulrazaq.
The 20-year-old joined the Jupiler League from Sweden's Norrköping for an undisclosed fee.
“The first summer transfer is here. RSC Anderlecht has reached an agreement with Swedish club Norrköping on the permanent transfer of Ishaq Abdulrazak," Anderlecht said in an official statement on Monday.
“He has signed a four-season contract with our club.
"Ishaq is a 20-year-old Nigerian who is comfortable at full-back but can play in different positions in midfield just as well."
Ishaq, who made 62 appearances for Norrköping, scoring twice and providing seven assists from central midfield, noted the move was a big step for his young career.
"This is a huge step forward for me, one of which I am very proud," he said.
"I want to prove my worth to the team as soon as possible and look forward to meeting my teammates and the fans."
Anderlecht CEO Peter Verbeke explained that the club had been watching the Kaduna-born player for some time.
"We've been following Ishaq for a while and we're really excited to be able to add him to the group," said Verbeke.
“Ishaq has many physical qualities; He is fast, agile, has volume and plays aggressively. On the other hand, he also has a lot of technical skills, which makes him a versatile player.â€
