Anglican Archbishop, driver regains freedom after one month in kidnapper's den

Most Rev. Prof. Godwin Okpala, the senior Anglican cleric who was abducted, has been released. Archbishop Okpala and his driver were released.

On Thursday morning, he posted on his Facebook page to affirm his independence.

All the clergyman wrote was, "Glory to God!" Immediately after, hundreds of people expressed gratitude to God for his freedom.

A month after his kidnapping, Okpala, the retired Archbishop of the Niger Province and Bishop of Nnewi, was freed, according to the DAILY POST.

As you may remember, he vanished while travelling to the Anambra State hamlet of Umuchu for a funeral.

As at the time this article was filed, the Anglican Communion's social media channels were celebrating his release, albeit specifics were still unclear.

The official Facebook page of St. Stephens Anglican Church in Nnewi is one of these sites.
