Angry mob set Wuse market in Abuja on fire
Tuesday saw the arson of a portion of the Abuja Market, Wuse by a vengeful mob and irate vendors following the reported shooting of a man by an officer who had been found guilty.
According to PUNCH Online, the man attempted to flee and was shot by an officer assigned to the Mobile Court located in the Abuja market.
The market has been cordoned off by police to restore order while FCT Fire Service officers work to put out the fire and stop it from spreading, according to a trustworthy source at Abuja Market Management Limited who confirmed the reported shooting to our correspondent.
Innocent Amaechina, the AMML's public relations officer, verified that the fire destroyed the management's office as well as a number of the market's stores and cars.
