APC 2023 PRESIDENCY: 23 screened aspirants, 10 advised to withdraw
 The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will hold its presidential primary from June 6-8 in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The party's delegates, leaders and observers will gather at Eagle Square to elect their flag-bearer.
The winner will challenge candidates from some other parties such as Atiku Abubakar from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi from the Labor Party. A total of 18 parties are eligible to present candidates for the presidential election, which will be held early next year The APC president's screening committee had reviewed 23 contenders and advised 10 of them to withdraw, although they could contest if they insisted. Audit committee chairman John Odigie-Oyegun said on Friday, while presenting his report to the party's national chairman Abdullahi Adamu, that 13 others had been shortlisted for the shadow election. Mr Oyegun said 22 of the 23 aspirants examined said they would accept a consensus agreement, but one aspirant opposed it.
