ASSU finally suspends strike
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has called off its eight-month strike.
The decision was made at the conclusion of the National Executive Council meeting, which was held at the ASUU secretariat in Abuja, our correspondent learned, however, the union has not yet made an official announcement.
According to PUNCH, a highly informed source within the NEC said, “Yes, it has been called offâ€.
When asked for more details, the source said, “the president will release an official circular in the morningâ€.
According to The PUNCH, the academic union went on strike on Monday, February 14, 2022, to protest the Federal Government's failure to implement the Memorandum of Understanding it struck with it in 2009.
