ASSU prolongs strike

The continuing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been extended.

During the National Executive Council, NEC, meeting of ASUU in Abuja, the strike was reportedly extended, according to reliable sources.

According to DAILY POST, this information was sent to their correspondent by a lecturer at the University of Calabar, UNICAL, who stated: "ASUU has prolonged the strike once more. We are unable to return to our classes since this government won't pay us.

“I currently have over one thousand scripts in my house, both marked and unmarked, I can’t attend to them because this government is owing me six months.”

Due to a difference in opinion on prior agreements made with the government, ASUU has been on strike since February 2022.
