Atiku travels to Europe on business trip
Atiku Abubakar, the party's presidential candidate, revealed his plan to fly to Europe on a business trip just hours after the Peoples Democratic Party's Presidential Campaign Council members were made public.
According to a press release issued by his media adviser, Mazi Paul Ibe, in Abuja, the former vice president will leave as soon as he concludes his Friday meeting with the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) leadership in Lagos with PDP vice presidential candidate Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta.
Ibe said, “Today’s trip is in continuation of an earlier business trip of 3 weeks ago.
“At the conclusion of his European trip, the former Vice President will also use the opportunity to visit his family in Dubai.
"His trip is for business and family purposes and has nothing to do with medicals as being insinuated in some quarters.â€
In response to calls from a segment of the party for changes to the National Working Committee of the party to guarantee inclusivity, the PDP released a list of its 326-member Presidential campaign council.
Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, and Chief Bode George, a member of the party's board of trustees, are specifically repeating calls from Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike for the resignation of the party's national chairman.
