Ayra Starr reveals how she struggled with her songs' popularity

Ayra Starr, a Mavin star, alluded to her past struggles with her music's fame on Tuesday night. The singer of "Rush" revealed in a kind of throwback gist about her career that, as of the previous year, she had to bring her friends and relatives to performances and concerts to help her warm up the crowd in case no one knew her music.

The singer, whose real name is Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, released popular songs between 2021 and 2022 that propelled her to fame. A couple of these top-charting singles are "Away" and "Bloody Samaritan."

In September 2022, Ayra Starr released the track "Rush," which put her at the forefront of the music industry's trends.

Posting on Twitter last night, she said, “Early Last year I used to take my friends and family to concerts and performances just in case no one knew my music, they would help me scream my songs and ginger the audience Sapa nice one.”

Ayrra Starr was born in Cotonou, Benin, and started working with Quove Model Management at the age of 16 before deciding to focus on music. She is a signed artist with the Don Jazzy-run Mavin Records label.
