Baby found inside gutter in Umuahia
An unidentified individual in Umuahia has disposed of a newborn infant in the gutter.
On Thursday, the infant was found in the deep gutter on Umuwaya Road, across from Abam Street, in the capital of Abia State.
It remained unclear as of Thursday night if the infant was still alive. Anyone responsible for the heinous deed was cursed by the mob that gathered at the scene of the occurrence.
They contend that rather than discarding the child, the mother ought to have brought it to the church, the Abia State government, or a motherless babies home.
Comments on the subject could not be obtained from the Abia State Police Command.
