Bandits abduct at least 60 in another attack on Kaduna community
According to reports, suspected bandits who raided the Buda community in Kajuru local government area, Kaduna State, kidnapped no fewer than sixty-one people.
Newsmen were informed by a local resident that the bandits broke into the village on Monday night at approximately 11:45 p.m., firing intermittently before taking their victims.
Dauda Kajuru, a resident, said that the kidnappers launched their attack by storming the neighbourhood in huge numbers.
“What happened yesterday (Monday) was terrifying. The bandits came intending to abduct scores of people that’ll outnumber that of school pupils in Kuriga Village of Chikun local government area, but the swift response of soldiers who were not more than 2km away from Kajuru helped to reduce the number.
“My siblings were part of those abducted yesterday and from available information as of this morning, the bandits with their victims are yet to get to their destination,” another resident, Manyu, said.
He regretted that banditry had returned in full force in the Kajuru communities following the removal of an Army Commander known by the nickname "Tega."
