Bandits demand N4m ransom to release abducted corps members

One of the eight members of the National Youth Service Corps who were kidnapped on a highway in Zamfara on Saturday has a ransom demand from bandits of N4 million.

When they were caught, the victims were on an AKTC bus from Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, to Sokoto State on their way to Zamfara State to take part in the required one-year National Youth Service Corps training.

Glory Thomas' father, Emmanuel Etteh, told Channels TV over the phone on Friday that the bandits had called to warn him of his daughter's kidnapping and demanded N4m in exchange for her return.

“They called me with their line; they asked me to pay N4m. I spoke with my daughter because I asked how they wanted us to pay; she said we should contact the AKTC,” he said.
