Bandits kill six, abducts 38 in Katsina
Six people were killed in an apparent bandit raid on the Yar Nasarawa hamlet in Katsina State's Faskari local government district, including a traditional ruler.
In addition, the invaders stole approximately 38 locals and set fire to homes and cars.
Within the community, which is located less than five kilometres from the Army Super Camp in the Faskari local government region, eight commercial vehicles, six dwellings, and stores were set on fire. About ten more people reportedly suffered injuries of varying degrees, according to a reliable resident of the area.
Ten residents suffered gunshot wounds after the terrorists reportedly kidnapped roughly 38 residents, including women and children.
He said, “The assailants came prepared, I have never seen them in such number.”
Auwal Liman, another eyewitness, claimed that he barely avoided the attack by running into the jungle. He clarified that some robbers were randomly firing, while others were setting buildings and cars on fire.
According to the findings, the terrorists assaulted the community at around 11 p.m. and blocked all sources of entry and escape in an attempt to elude local Community Watch Corps members and the military backup.
Abubakar-Sadik Aliyu, a spokesman for the State Police Command, confirmed the attack but withheld any information.
“We are in a sorrowful situation, we can’t go to the farm. And even when we decided to stay off from our farms and local markets, the terrorists still followed us to our communities and killed us. Our lives hardly matter,” he lamented.
