Oluwatobi Elijah, 29, has been charged with defiling a 16-year-old girl at his home in the Ketu neighborhood of Lagos.
According to police prosecutor Insp. Donjor Perezi, the offense was committed on January 17.
He claimed that Elijah had enticed the youngster to his room as she was returning from school, pulled a knife out, and threatened to stab her if she didn't consent to his desire for sex.
“Elijah covered the victim’s mouth with his hand and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
“The case was reported to the police, and the defendant was arrested,†the prosecutor said.
According to the police prosecutor, the offense is against Section 137 of the Lagos State Criminal Law from 2015.
The Section calls for life in jail.
Police accused Elijah of defiling.
Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, the Chief Magistrate, rejected the defendant's plea.
She directed that he be held at the Ikoyi detention center while she awaited the state's director of public prosecutions' opinion (DPP).
