Barcelona offered a chance to sign Palmeiras Starlet Danilo as its new Midfielder

Barcelona has reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign Palmeiras starlet Danilo ahead of the summer transfer window.

Diario Sport reports that the midfielder would cost around €20-25m and would be 'very pleased' to join Barcelona and learn from Sergio Busquets.

Barcelona has not yet 'ruled' him but is said to prefer Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Rueben Neves if they want to sign a new midfielder.

Danilo only turned 21 last month but has impressed in Brazil and attracted the attention of clubs in Europe, including Arsenal, who have already been linked with a move.

He also made an impression at the last Club World Cup. Although Palmeiras lost to Chelsea in the final, Danilo took home the Bronze Ball.

The youngster has also just made his debut in Brazil's squad and is hoping to feature in the Selecao's friendlies against the Korea Republic, Japan and Argentina in June.

According to Dianio Sport, Danilo shares an agent with Philippe Coutinho, which could come in handy if Barcelona is interested in signing the youngster.

Barcelona has already been linked with a host of midfielders this season, including Real Sociedad's Aurelien Tchouaméni and Martin Zubimendi, who are looking to the future and need to find a replacement for 33-year-old captain Sergio Busquets.
