Bayo Lawal appointed as deputy governor of Oyo
Shortly after approving the panel report Monday to remove Oyo State Deputy Governor Rauf Olaniyan, the State Assembly approved the appointment of Mr Bayo Lawal as the state's next Deputy Governor.
The approval came after the speaker of the assembly, the Honorable Adebo Ogundoyin, read a letter from Governor Seyi Makinde asking for the assembly's approval of his nomination of Lawal as deputy governor.
Prior to his eligibility as vice governor, Lawal served as chairman of Oyo State Water Corporation and was nominated as Makinde's running mate for the 2023 gubernatorial election.
