BIC unveils virtual art gallery in Africa
In an effort to encourage innovation and creativity in Africa, BIC has opened an art exhibition in the Metaverse.
The metaverse is a virtual environment where people converse using avatars.
It can be seen online with a browser or a virtual reality headset on Web3, the most recent version of the internet.
Greg Alibaux, the Marketing Director of BIC, Middle East and Africa, stated in a statement that the development was a step forward in BIC's mission to empower young people via self-expression and creativity.
He said the launch was an extension of the company’s flagship art competition, “Art Master Africa”, aimed at encouraging talents to express themselves through art using the BIC ballpoint pen.
Alibaux claims that the Art Master Africa Metaverse gallery is up and running.
He claimed that during the year, the gallery would feature the creations of artists from the surrounding areas, which included Southern, Eastern, and West Africa.
He added that viewers to the gallery would be able to get up close and personal with the artistic creations made with the BIC Cristal ballpoint pen.
