Biden falls on stage at US Air Force Academy graduation
At the graduation ceremony at the country's air force academy in Colorado, US President Joe Biden stumbled and fell on stage.
After giving the welcome speech and shaking hands with the graduates, Biden stumbled close to the podium and needed help getting back to his feet from the people surrounding him.
After the Thursday incident, the 80-year-old president made it back to his seat on his own.
After videos of the event started to surface online, Ben LaBolt, the White House communications director, clarified that the US president just stumbled over a sandbag that was left on stage.
Biden was likewise said to be "totally fine" by the White House press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre.
If he were to be elected again in 2024, Biden would be the oldest serving US president in history and would be 86 at the end of his second term.
The US president remarked that voters will decide "whether or not I have it or don't have it" in response to certain residents' concerns about his age and health.
