Bishop Onaga forbids Catholics from attending Fr Mbaka's Adoration Ministry
The Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Bishop Calistus Onaga, has imposed a ban on Rev. Fr. Mbaka's Adoration Ministry.
According to DAILY POST, this follows Mbaka's outburst against a presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi of the Labor Party. In a letter he signed to "All clergy, religious and lay faithful in the Catholic Diocese of Enugu," Bishop Onaga forbade them from having anything to do with the Adoration Ministry. He said in the letter that Mbaka had refused to heed the Church's persistent directives, "and in fulfilment of my pastoral duties as Chief Pastor," "I hereby prohibit all Catholics (clergy, religious and lay faithful) from visiting all religious and liturgical activities of the Catholic Adoration Ministry pending the completion of the due canonical process instituted by the diocese.†While noting that his decision was based on the fact that Mbaka's teachings and pronouncements did not agree with the teachings of the Catholic Church, he urged "all believing Christians to continue to continue to pray for Fr. Mbaka."
