Bobrisky denies giving N15m bribe to EFCC officers
Popular transvestite Idris Okuneye, better known online as Bobrisky, has refuted a claim that he accepted bribes made against him by social media influencer Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan.
Bobrisky claimed that some unidentified Economic and Financial Crimes Commission agents took N15 million from him in exchange for dropping money laundering accusations against him in a widely shared audio clip that was made public by VeryDarkMan.
The EFCC's Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, responded to the widely circulated recording in a statement on Tuesday, stating that the Commission's Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, had directed an immediate investigation into the situation.
But Bobrisky asserted that he had served his jail sentence in an Instagram post published on Wednesday morning, denying that he had paid any EFCC officer to drop the money laundering accusations against him.
The contentious social media star also emphasised that the assertion that he was never incarcerated was untrue and ought to be disregarded, branding the widely circulated voice tape as phoney.
He wrote, “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira, and that I was never in prison… I didn’t pay any EFCC money, which is a very big lie. I served my term in full, and I came out. Discard any false information.”
