Bomb Explosion in Kano, many injured
A bomb blast shook Sabon Gari in the Fagge local government area of Kano state Tuesday morning.
The blast happened near a private school and on Aba Road and destroyed some of the buildings near the area. Parents panicked as they scrambled to pick up their children.
However, the state Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, declared that the explosion did not happen in the school but at an animal feed store opposite the school along Aba Road, Sabon Gari area of Fagge Local Government.
An eyewitness account in a video that went viral said the blast was from a suicide bomber.
Efforts to reach Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa proved futile as he did not respond to calls routed to his phone.
At this point, the authorities had not issued an official statement confirming the incident.
