Borno Campaign: Gunmen attack Atiku's convoy

A number of people were seen running in all directions as gunshots ripped through the air in a video that was being shared on social media.

Earlier, Atiku's campaign train was in Borno, which is currently a state ruled by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Atiku's convoy was passing through Maiduguri, the state capital, when a Daily Post reporter spotted vandalized automobiles there.

The Atiku Campaign's spokesman, Senator Dino Malaye, said that the attack was carried out by Borno's ruling party.

Melaye further said that around 70 patients were sent to hospitals.

“They wanted to prevent us from holding the campaign; as we speak, 74 people were injured and hospitalized.

“Several vehicles were vandalised by APC thugs,” he said

As of the time this report was filed, the APC had not responded to Melaye's accusation.
