Boy allegedly kills grandmother in Ondo

In Labeta, Sabo in the Ondo West council area of Ondo State, a grandson named Vincent is accused of killing his 66-year-old grandma Florence Olaloye because she reprimanded him for consuming marijuana. According to rumours, the granddaughter who lived with her grandmother allegedly killed her in her chamber.

Another grandchild staying with her, Pelumi, who raised the alarm after returning from an errand, found her dead body.

The victim scolded the suspect for smoking marijuana, which led to him being picked up by detectives from the Fagun police station for questioning right away.

Pelumi, who has also been detained by police detectives, stated in an interview that "our grandmother instructed me to acquire snail from the market for us to cook stew." My brother Vincent entered the house as I was about to leave and said he wanted to iron his clothes. I hurried inside to give him the iron, then I went outside to get the snail.

My brother and my grandma were still in the room when I returned. Grandma then asked me to buy her some firewood. Grandma was already on the floor in a pool of blood when I returned with the firewood.

Regarding my brother's marijuana use, my grandmother and he did not get along. An argument broke out between them on that fateful day before I left the house because my brother did not complete the work that my grandma had assigned to him.

Vincent, the suspect, denied killing her grandmother in a separate interview. When his brother returned from the market, Vincent claimed he had left the house and found the grandmother dead. "I immediately raised the alarm after seeing grandma in a pool of her blood by alerting our neighbours," Vincent said.

Funmi Odunlami, the state police command's spokeswoman, said that the two grandkids had been detained and were being questioned.
