Canada extends work permit for visitors by two years
According to the Canadian government, tourists who manage to secure legitimate employment offers while in the country will still be allowed to apply for and receive work permits without having to leave.
The short-term solution implemented to solve the labor shortfall in the nation was scheduled to expire on February 28, 2023. It has now been postponed, according to the Canadian government, until February 28, 2025, a 2-year extension.
A statement on the Canadian Immigration website claims that this temporary regulation gives firms in Canada a choice because many are experiencing severe labor shortages during this period of economic expansion. It also stated that anyone applying under this public policy who recently obtained a work permit will still be allowed to seek temporary work authorization to start working for their new employer more quickly.
