Cardi B throws mic at fan who hurls drink at her on Stage

Rapper Cardi B threw her microphone at a fan who threw a drink at her on stage while she was performing.

On social media on Saturday night, a video went viral that showed the musician's amazement when a spectator threw liquid from a cup at her as she was playing.

Cardi B appeared to rage at the person as she threw the microphone back in response. The rapper's Twitter account tweeted the video following the incident.

Although this wasn't the first time an artist had objects thrown at them while they were playing, most of the time they were not observed fighting back and instead walked off stage to take a break, ostensibly in protest.

Musicians have experienced similar situations over the years, but more recently there has been an increase in them being violated while performing. 

Bebe Rexha was injured earlier this month after being hit by a cell phone while performing, while country singer Kelsea Ballerini was struck in the eye by a bracelet that a fan threw at her. During the first night of Drake's "It's All a Blur Tour," a phone was also thrown at his arm, while Lil Nas X received sex toys during a headlining performance.

 When concertgoers rushed onto the stage in June, Ava Max was struck in the eye by one of them. Pink was stunned when a fan allegedly scattered his mother's ashes in front of her during one of her live performances that same month.

Several performers have been open about their thoughts on the troubling trend, including Billie Eilish, Finneas and Kelly Clarkson. The ‘Since U Been Gone’ singer previously told THR how traumatic the fan encounters could be, saying, “When your eyes are closed and you’re singing and you’re vulnerable in this space and someone just kind of attack you like that — that really was not a good experience for me.”
