Cash App Founder, Bob Lee stabbed to death in San Francisco

Bob Lee, the creator of Cash App and the previous chief technology officer of Square, was stabbed to death.

The IT executive was reportedly stabbed early on Tuesday morning close to downtown San Francisco, according to sources, KPIX reports.

As of Tuesday night, the city's medical examiner's office still hadn't identified the victim, but Lee's pals confirmed to KPIX that he was the one who died.

The 43-year-old Lee headed MobileCoin, a cryptocurrency firm based in San Francisco.

A deluge of tributes to Lee was sent on Twitter Tuesday night, many of them using the @crazybob handle.

The case has not resulted in an arrest, and San Francisco police have not disclosed any information about the suspects.

Calling the police department's tip line was encouraged for anyone with information regarding the fatal stabbing.
