Chelsea agrees to a season-long loan deal with Inter Milan; Lukaku set to leave
According to Gazzetta dello sport, Romelu Lukaku was left in tears after Chelsea agreed to a season-long loan deal with Inter Milan
Inter is set to pay the Blues a £7m loan fee plus add-ons.
Lukaku himself will make sacrifices by taking a 35% pay cut on his £325,000-a-week wage at Stamford Bridge.
The 29-year-old returns to the San Siro just a year after joining Chelsea in a club-record deal worth £97.5million.
While he was there, he scored 15 goals in 44 games.
Lukaku then disrupted the club's campaign by giving a TV interview in December criticizing manager Thomas Tuchel.
It has now been revealed that Lukaku became emotional after being informed by his lawyer Sebastien Ledure that a breakthrough had been reached in Tuesday's negotiations between Chelsea and Inter.
It came after talks stalled on Monday as Inter president Steven Zhang tried to restructure the deal.
