Court sentences 19 persons to carry out community service in Lagos
For the careless dumping of trash, 19 people were ordered to carry out community service orders in Oshodi.
The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) announced this on their X on Friday.
A Magistrate's Court in Oshodi convicted the defendants on Thursday, October 19, 2023, for disposing of rubbish in places that weren't allowed, according to LAWMA.
In the meantime, on Thursday in Lagos Central District, LAWMA met with the Association of Market Men and Women.
The main goal of the gathering is to educate the group on proper waste disposal techniques in public spaces.
The function was held at Ijora Olopa, the Authority's main office.
