Court sentences Tiktoker to 3 years imprisonment for cyberstalking Eniola Badmus

A Federal High Court in Lagos has convicted Okoye Blessing Nwakaego, a TikToker, to three years in prison for using TikTok to cyberstalk Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus.

Nwakaego entered a guilty plea to two counts of cyberstalking on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, but was found guilty by Justice Nicholas Oweibo, according to media sources. Nevertheless, the judge took into account the prisoner's repentance and offered her the choice of avoiding jail term by paying a fine of N150,000.

The accusation states that between December 2022 and July 2023 in Lagos, Nwakaego and one Chimabia—who is now at large—conspired to conduct the act. Additionally, it was claimed that the pair purposefully caused correspondence to be transmitted using her mobile number via multiple blogs and social media networks.

Her conduct, according to the police, was “grossly offensive, false and to cause annoyance, inconvenience, danger, insult, injury, criminal intimidation, enmity, hatred and needless anxiety to the prejudice of Badmus.”
