Court stops PDP South-South zonal comgress
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its suspended National Vice Chairman South-South, Dan Orbih, are prohibited from holding the party's South-South Zonal Congress, which was set for Saturday, February 22, 2025, in Calabar, Cross River State, by an interim injunction issued by a Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt.
After hearing arguments from the claimants' attorney, Emeka D.A. Ojoko, the presiding judge, Justice G.V. Obomanu, decided in their favour.
The defendants, their agents, and representatives were directed by the court to stop all congress preparations until the Motion on Notice for Interlocutory Injunction was heard and decided.
Additionally, until additional court procedures, the decision required all parties to maintain the status quo as of February 20, 2025.
