Cross River govt, Organised Labour agree on N70,000 minimum wage
The government of Cross River State and organised labour have agreed on a nationwide minimum wage of 70,000.
The TUC, NLC, JNC, and other members of the minimum wage committee, which Governor Bassey Otu established, reached an agreement late Sunday following a meeting that began on Saturday.
"Truly, we have reached an agreement," stated Com. Monday Ogbodum, Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, in a telephone confirmation to Vanguard on Sunday night.
Ogbodum responded, "There will be Congress tomorrow (Monday) to determine further action the Unions will take," when asked if the industrial action that was set to start on Monday, December 2nd, would actually start.
